The Georgia Club Golf Tip of the Month -- Hook and Slice No More!
This month's Golf Tip comes courtesy of Matt Erdmann, Assistant Golf Professional at The Georgia Club.
Frustrated because your ball won't fly straight? If you are notorious for hooking or slicing your ball, try these exercises to help get the ball where you want it.
Hook ball flight: Practice hitting shots on a sidehill lie with the ball below your feet. Hit many shots and this will help eliminate the shutting of the clubface. Also, try to feel the fingernails of the right hand (for right handed players) going towards the sky from impact through follow-through.
Slice Ball Flights: Practice hitting shots on a sidehill lie with the ball above your feet. Hit many shots and this will help eliminate an outside-in path and opening of the clubface. Also, try to feel the left arm (for right handed players) rotate through impact and though follow-through to help square the clubface.
